Serial number decoder for Smeg dishwasher

Serial no.

Type the serial from the data plate, not the model number. Nothing is sent anywhere; the tables are in this page.

Format example: 7032917091

Smeg dishwasher serial numbers in the era not stated format encode the year as 10-digit S/N: digit 1 = last digit of year, digit 10 = decade digit (1 = 201x) -> 7 + 1 = 2017; 20-digit Full S/N: digit 1 = decade, digit 8 = year and the digits 2-5 = MMDD (0329 = 29 March); on the 20-digit form the MMDD follows the year digit (positions 9-12) (source: appliancepartsonline.co.za).
Example: serial 7032917091 decodes to 1957 or 1967 or 1977 or 1987 or 1997 or 2007 or 2017 (March).
The era not stated format is ambiguous: Source is a Smeg South Africa distributor training sheet (appliancepartsonline.co.za PDF 'How to read your date of manufacture'), not smeg.com: example tag MOD SSA91MAA9, S/N 70329 1709 1, Full S/N 1 730737 70329 1709 01 15 = 2017-03-29. The 20-digit pattern would be ^(?P<decade>\d)\d{6}(?P<year>\d)(?P<month>\d{2})(?P<day>\d{2})\d{4}\d{2}\d{2}$ (example 17307377032917090115). Whether US-market Smeg tags carry the same layout is unverified; Smeg US FAQ only says where the S/N is. Decade digit repeats every 100 years, harmless.
Smeg's official lookup at smeg.com returns warranty / registration lookup.

Where the data plate is on a dishwasher

Open the door: the label is on the inner door edge or the side of the tub frame.

General guidance, not brand-specific: the owner's manual or the installer can point to the exact spot. See the data plate guide.

For scale only: the InterNACHI Standard Estimated Life Expectancy Chart for Homes lists Dishwasher at 9 years of expected service (nachi.org). That chart is a guideline, not a prediction for your unit.

Official lookup: the authority

Open the official Smeg lookup takes serial number; returns warranty / registration lookup; URL verified live

This site is a reference built from published tables. The manufacturer's own lookup wins whenever the two disagree.
