Two plates: one on the side of the outdoor unit, one on the indoor head (lift the front cover or look under the unit). The two serials differ; decode the outdoor unit for the system age.

What we could not confirm
- The 1997 to 2004 format is only partially confirmed (PARTIAL (page is a corrupted Panasonic copy; chart only)).
- APPLIANCES: 8th char = year letter, 9th = month (1-9, A/B/C). HVAC: building-center's samsung-hvac-age page is a mangled copy of the Panasonic page (header says 'Parent Company: Panasonic'); only its Style 2 chart (P1AN800011, 1997-2004 year letters) is Samsung. samsung.com/us/support/warranty/ = 200 (warranty terms). samsunghvac.com/product-registration = 200. Samsung's own manufacture-date support article could not be reached (ANS00062112 redirects to the support home; search budget exhausted).
